Tripura has been declared a fully literate state, achieving a literacy rate of 95.6%, making it the third in India after Mizoram and Goa. This milestone was reached through the 'ULLAS - New India Literacy Programme'. Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted the state's progress from a mere 20.24% literacy rate in 1961.
