Evacuated from our dormitory: Indian students share what it took to escape Iran
Posted
Amid the Iran-Israel conflict, India launched Operation Sindhu on June 18, 2025, to evacuate citizens from affected regions. So far, 2,295 Indians have been rescued from Iran, with a separate flight on June 17 bringing home 290 Indians and one Sri Lankan. Students expressed gratitude to the Indian government and the MEA for their timely help. While relieved, many shared concerns about their interrupted studies and urged continued assistance. India's outreach also extended to neighbouring nationals.
