The ITR filing deadline for FY 2024-25 has been extended to September 15, 2025, potentially waiving penal interest under Section 234A if self-assessment tax is paid by the extended date. However, this extension does not affect penal interest applicability under Sections 234B and 234C for advance tax deficiencies, which remain in effect.
