CBSE approves biannual Class 10 board exams starting 2026, best score to be retained

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Class 10 board exams twice a year starting in 2026. The first phase will be mandatory, while the second phase will be optional, allowing students to improve their scores with the best result being retained. Internal assessments will be held once annually. This policy aims to reduce exam stress, offer flexibility, and enhance learning outcomes, marking a major reform in India’s education system.
