Kerala opts out of PM SHRI school scheme, plans legal action over withheld funds

Kerala Education Minister V.Sivankutty announced that the state will not sign the agreement for the Centre's PM SHRI scheme, citing adherence to their poll manifesto and disagreement with the scheme's terms. Student unions, except ABVP, supported this decision. The state government will also pursue legal action against the Centre for withholding Rs 1,500 crore in education funds.
