'Treat on merit’: MEA flags concerns over new social media rules for US visa; says remain engaged with Washington

The Ministry of External Affairs says the US should assess Indian visa applications fairly. This follows the US embassy's new guidelines. Applicants must now share social media details. Omitting information may lead to visa denial. The US embassy in India also asks student visa applicants to make social media accounts public.
