The RSS has called for a review of the words 'socialist' and 'secular' in the Constitution's preamble, arguing they were added during the Emergency. RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabole highlighted that BR Ambedkar did not include these terms. Demanding an apology from Congress for Emergency excesses, Union Home Minister Amit Shah marked June 25 as "Samvidhan Hatya Diwas.
