Tata Steel faces a show cause-cum-demand notice from tax authorities regarding alleged irregular availment of input tax credit (ITC) amounting to over Rs 1,007 crore for fiscal years 2018-19 to 2022-23. While the company has already paid Rs 514.19 crore in GST, the notice proposes appropriating this amount, leaving an alleged exposure of Rs 493.35 crore.
