Uddhav Thackeray claimed victory after the Maharashtra government withdrew orders implementing the three-language policy in primary schools, which mandated Hindi. Thackeray accused the government of attempting to divide Marathi speakers and questioned the pressure to promote Hindi. Following strong resistance, the government cancelled the resolutions and formed a committee under Dr. Narendra Jadhav to review the language policy.
