Post Op Sindoor, India to fast-track launch of 52 defence surveillance satellites

India is accelerating its space surveillance capabilities following Operation Sindoor, planning to launch 52 dedicated military satellites by 2029, with the first launch expected next April. This initiative, costing Rs 26,968 crore, aims to enhance surveillance of China, Pakistan, and the Indian Ocean Region. The move is also a response to China's growing space capabilities and military advancements in space.
