Vijay Amritraj laments the decline of Indian tennis at Wimbledon

In the last 10 years, Indian tennis has had only three players make the singles main draw. That trend hasn't been bucked this year. Instead of the players on the court, it is cricketers and celebrities in the stands that have enamoured the public. Once a regional powerhouse, India now lack singles players in the top 100. Vijay Amritraj lamented the decline, calling for a systemic overhaul and greater individual commitment to regain global competitiveness.
