'Centre choosing easy over effective': Congress's Jairam Ramesh slams rollback of sulphur norms; alleges government caved to polluter pressure

Jairam Ramesh, senior Congress leader, has strongly criticised the Modi government's decision. The government has exempted many coal-fired power plants from installing pollution control systems. Ramesh calls this decision dangerous. He says it is based on faulty premises. He highlights the health and environmental risks of sulphur dioxide emissions. He also criticises the focus on PM10 over PM2.5.
