Salesforce CEO says AI now resolves 85% of customer service, urges shift in US education

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff revealed that AI now manages 85% of customer service and generates 25% of new code at the company, as 51% of hiring in Q1 was internal amid a pause in engineering recruitment. Citing these shifts, Benioff called for urgent changes in US education and job training to prepare workers for AI-driven roles. He emphasised that humans must remain central, warning that current junior-level jobs are at high risk from automation.
