Farm groups urge government to exclude all aspects of agriculture from the India-US trade deal
Postado
As India and the US engage in final trade negotiations, farmer organizations are urging the government to exclude agriculture from the deal. They fear that allowing subsidized US imports would harm Indian farmers by destabilizing domestic prices and threatening the dairy sector with potential losses exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore annually. Concerns over transgenic produce and biosafety are also highlighted.
