A fragile calm has settled over Sweida, Southern Syria, after a week of intense sectarian violence that claimed over 1,100 lives. A ceasefire, brokered after multiple failed attempts, is holding between Druze factions and Sunni Bedouin rivals. Government forces have secured parts of the province, and humanitarian aid has begun to arrive.
