Electronics exports: India challenges China’s dominance, eyes leadership in manufacturing

India is poised to become a major electronics manufacturing hub, challenging China and Vietnam, according to a Centre for Development Studies report. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme spurred a massive increase in mobile phone exports, reaching $24.1 billion in 2024-25. Domestic Value Addition also rose significantly, creating numerous jobs.
