UAE banks are ditching SMS OTPs? Here’s what to know about app-based verification
Posté
Banks in the United Arab Emirates are set to change transaction verification. One-time passwords via SMS and email will be discontinued. Instead, bank apps will be used for approvals. This shift aims to boost security against rising cyber threats. The change starts July 2025, with full implementation by March 2026. Customers must use bank apps for transaction authentication.
