Why the US passport dropping out of top 10 matters for student mobility and international learning
Posted
The US passport has dropped to 10th place in the Henley Passport Index, offering visa-free access to 182 destinations. This decline, the lowest in the index's 20-year history, may affect student mobility and international academic opportunities. Compared to Singapore's top-ranked passport with 193 visa-free destinations, US students could face increased travel restrictions. Henley & Partners attributes the fall to reduced diplomatic engagement, with the US also ranking low on openness, allowing visa-free access to only 46 nationalities.
