On Kargil Vijay Diwas, the focus shifts to Nana Patekar. The actor joined the Indian Army during the 1999 Kargil War. He trained with soldiers for 'Prahaar' and sought permission to serve. Defence Minister George Fernandes approved his request. Patekar served as an honorary captain in conflict zones. He patrolled the Line of Control and aided in military hospitals.
