The Supreme Court addressed a complex matrimonial situation involving Indian Ambassador Thongkomang Armstrong Changsan, who remarried after a customary divorce deemed invalid by the Gauhati High Court. The court showed no sympathy for Changsan, whose first marriage, solemnized in a church, was improperly dissolved by village elders.
