A US district judge in New York issued a preliminary injunction halting the cancellation of National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grants linked to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) topics. The decision followed a lawsuit by the Authors Guild, alleging First Amendment violations. Judge Colleen McMahon ruled that the terminations were based on viewpoint discrimination.
