A tragic accident occurred in Ludhiana as an overloaded pick-up van carrying 25 pilgrims returning from Naina Devi temple plunged into the Sirhind canal. Eight people, including women and children, died, and two remain missing. The vehicle, carrying pilgrims from Manakwal village, veered off the Jagera bridge, leading to the devastating incident, while some passengers managed to swim to safety.
