China rains: 30 killed in Beijing floods; 80,000 evacuated amid ongoing rescue efforts

Torrential rainfall in Beijing has resulted in at least 30 deaths, triggering widespread floods and landslides across northern China. Miyun, a mountainous area, recorded the highest rainfall, with 28 fatalities. Over 80,000 residents have been evacuated as roads were damaged and power outages affected numerous villages. Authorities issued the highest flood alert, closing schools and construction sites.
