NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, a 36-year-old immigrant from Bangladesh, was tragically killed in a mass shooting at a Manhattan office tower. The gunman, Shane Devon Tamura, opened fire with a rifle, killing four others and injuring one before taking his own life.
