Worcester spared education cuts as Trump releases $5.5 billion in frozen US school funding
Posted
Twenty jobs at Worcester Public Schools have been safeguarded after the Trump administration released $5.5 billion in previously frozen US education funding. The district will receive its full $3.5 million allocation, preventing staffing cuts. The funds, initially withheld pending federal review, were reinstated following legal and political pressure. Massachusetts will receive $108 million, with Worcester's share supporting instruction, safety, and technology. Local officials confirmed the money will arrive through the state's education department.
