Why is Elon Musk fixing US schools while the government stalls? xAI tackles Memphis HVAC failures

Elon Musk's company xAI has carried out HVAC repairs and inspections at Memphis-Shelby County Schools near its data centre, addressing part of the district's $1 billion maintenance backlog. In-kind donations included labour and material through a local contractor. xAI also plans STEM workshops and technical equipment donations. Separately, the Musk Foundation has donated $350,000 to reopen two Boys & Girls Club sites in Memphis after COVID-era funds lapsed, restoring services for nearly 1,000 students.
