The 71st National Film Awards sparked controversy as Sudipto Sen's 'The Kerala Story' won Best Cinematography, drawing criticism from Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, who condemned the film for spreading misinformation and communal hatred. Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, and Vikrant Massey were also among the winners, recognized for their outstanding performances.
