The Uttar Pradesh government has agreed to the Supreme Court's proposal to form an interim committee, headed by a retired High Court judge, to manage the Banke Bihari temple. This is pending the Allahabad HC's decision on the ordinance regarding the temple's takeover for development. The state proposes a committee composition, while Goswamis object, claiming hereditary control.
