India's dignity belittled by hand-pulled rickshaws: SC

The Supreme Court has voiced strong disapproval of the continued use of hand-pulled rickshaws in Matheran, calling it an affront to India's progress and constitutional values. The court directed the Maharashtra government to create a scheme within six months to replace these with e-rickshaws, drawing inspiration from a successful model empowering tribal women in Gujarat.
