EC delists 334 unrecognised parties over norms breach
Posted
The Election Commission has delisted 334 registered unrecognised political parties for violating registration guidelines and statutory obligations. This action reduces the total number of such parties to 2,520. These delisted parties will lose income-tax concessions. The decision follows verification inquiries prompted by parties not contesting elections for six years. Parties can appeal the delisting within 30 days.
