Posted
The NCERT's new Class 8 Social Science textbook has omitted references to Tipu Sultan, Haidar Ali, and the Anglo-Mysore wars, prompting concerns. The Centre clarified that states have the flexibility to include regional history in their textbooks. An expert committee has been formed to examine feedback on the new textbooks aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. The committee will review content and recommend changes to balance national and regional historical coverage.
