Defence Ministry gives nod to Rs 30,000 crore UAV drone deal: Two firms to share contract; local production, exports in focus

India's defence ministry has approved a Rs 30,000 crore contract to procure 87 indigenously manufactured long-range drones, poised to transform the UAV sector. The order will be split between two manufacturers, establishing separate production facilities for future growth and exports. These MALE drones will be used for reconnaissance, electronic warfare, and precision strikes, enhancing India's defence capabilities.
