'I am shocked': As Parliament passes tax bill without debate, Sitharaman hits out at opposition for not participating in discussion - watch

The Parliament approved the new Income Tax Bill. This happened without any debate. The Union Finance Minister criticised the opposition. She noted their absence during important bill discussions in the Rajya Sabha. Opposition parties staged a walkout. Earlier, taxation bills were passed by voice vote in the Lok Sabha. The new bill replaces the Income-tax Act of 1961.
