Prayagraj launches drive to control stray dog population

Prayagraj Municipal Corporation has initiated a large-scale sterilization campaign to manage the city's 1.1 lakh stray dogs, prompted by a surge in dog bite incidents. Recent data reveals 1.9 lakh people were bitten in the past two years, with a significant increase in 2024. An animal birth control center is being established to accelerate sterilization and vaccination efforts.
