The Supreme Court has requested responses from eight states, including UP and Maharashtra, regarding the alleged unauthorized detention of Muslim migrant workers from West Bengal. The West Bengal Migrant Workers Welfare Board claims these detentions are based on mere suspicion of being Bangladeshi nationals.
