The GMF called for prompt action from New Delhi, stakeholders, international bodies, and the media to de-escalate the violence and manage the crisis. They condemned the loss of lives and property and committed to working towards reducing inter-community distrust and tensions through collective efforts and solidarity among Manipuris worldwide. The underlying conflict arose from protests against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe status.
