A Chinese court has sentenced US national Shadid Abdumeting to death for the brutal murder of his Chinese girlfriend, aged 21 at the time of the killing.

The two met in 2019 and began a relationship. In May 2021 the victim tried to break up with the culprit, but failed. During mid-June 2021, Abdumetig killed the woman with a knife.

The crime is said to have been premeditated and committed with particular cruelty.
