A one-hour dharna was organized to peacefully voice the demand for the cancellation of the name "Kosi" in response to the creation of the Kosi state. Identity activists staged protests at various locations within the Kosi state. The protesters gathered to advocate for the removal of the chosen name and to honor Padam Limbu, who tragically lost his life while receiving medical treatment after sustaining injuries during the demonstrations in Biratnagar on March 5. They regarded him as a martyr. Starting from 1 pm on Saturday, the demonstrators sat on the streets for an hour, raising slogans in unity. The supporters of Asmita, an identity-based group, have been consistently protesting against the state government's decision regarding the state's name. In addition to their street protests, they have also enforced closures in certain local areas within the province. Their demand remains steadfast: to discard the name "Kosi" and select a name that reflects their collective identity. #Koshi
