Why Amit Shah speech today in Parlianment is a Landmark speech

It is the Longest parliamentary speech in the discussion on the No-Confidence motion.

Amit Shah gave a reply speech of 133 minutes i.e. 2 hours 13 minutes.

- Barring budget speeches, this is the longest speech EVER DELIVERED by a minister or leader in Parliament.

Amit Shah broke the record of Lal Bahadur Shastri. He took 1 minute more time than Shastri Ji.

- In 1965, Lal Bahadur Shastri gave a 2 hour 12 minute long speech on the No-confidence motion.

The third longest speech was by Sushma Swaraj in 2003. Sushma Swaraj spoke for the full 105 minutes i.e. 1 hour 45 minutes.

- Atal Bihari Vajpayee's speech at number four is 90 minutes i.e. 1 hour 30 minutes. He gave this speech in Parliament in 1996 while presenting the trust vote of his 13-Day government.
