Taiwan's military—for the first time—said it was monitoring Chinese ground troop movements in Dacheng Bay (Taipei Times)

"The recent enemy situation is quite abnormal,” Taiwan's Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng told reporters in Taipei.

"Our initial analysis is that they are doing joint drills in September, including land, sea, air & amphibious," Chiu told reporters.
