❗️The Costa Rican authorities have declared a national emergency against the background of an influx of migrants arriving via Panama

The President Rodrigo Chaves Robles says he ordered migration authorities to start deporting people back to Venezuela or another country of origin in the event of unrest.

In September alone, over 60,000 people trying to make it to the United States arrived in Costa Rica through the Panamanian border city of Paso Canoas.
