The Nepal Indigenous Journalists Association (Phonij) in Dolakha has initiated training in search and digital journalism. With financial support from Bhimeshwar Municipality, the five-day training organized by Phonij Dolakha will take place starting from Wednesday.
During the inauguration of the training, Kamala Basnet, Deputy Mayor of Bhimeshwar Municipality, emphasized the need to increase women's participation in journalism. She highlighted the municipality's continuous support for the capacity development of journalists.
The inauguration event, led by Arjun Paudel, President of Phonij Dolakha, featured speeches from Chiranjivi Maske, a board member of the Press Council of Nepal; Navin Lama, Ward Chair of Ward No. 6 of Bhimeshwar Municipality; Dil Bahadur Kesi, Secretary of Nepal Journalists Association Dolakha; Prabhu Jirel, President of Press Chautari Nepal Dolakha; Sujan Kafle, President of Press Union Dolakha; Suvas Lama, Regional Deputy Chairperson of Nepali Congress Dolakha; Anita Lama, Secretary of Phonij Dolakha; and Sujan Thami, Assistant Secretary of Phonij Dolakha.
The training, which includes the participation of 25 journalists actively engaged in various media outlets, aims to facilitate the ease of journalism through the contributions of Chiranjivi Maske, Jeevan Lama, Kedar Shivakoti, Dil Bahadur Kesi, Arjun Paudel, Narayan Sedhai, Bhola Khatiwada, and others affiliated with Phonij Dolakha.
