The Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, Justice T. S. Sivagnanam lambasted the West Bengal government over the vandalism at the city's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, calling it an "absolute failure of state machinery."
Labelling it a "sorry state of affairs," the High Court stated that the city police were not able to protect itself; "how can these doctors work fearlessly?"
