RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's protection protocol has been upgraded from Z-plus to an Advance Security Liaison (ASL) drill in line with that for PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah.

The Ministry of Home Affairs following a review had found gaps in his protection while visiting non-BJP states.

Routes of Bhagwat’s transits would be lined with security measures, which would be implemented by local police in coordination with Central security agencies.

Pilots, escorts, and cavalcade vehicles, drivers, and their routes would be scrutinised by central agencies prior to his visits or movement.

Resting or transit places would have security commandants for coordination and marshalling security plans at Ground Zero.
