Haryana farmers express gratitude after govt hikes MSP on Rabi crops
Chandigarh, Oct 17 (IANS) The farmers of Haryana have expressed happiness after the Union Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs decided to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all essential Rabi crops for 2025-26. Sanjay Kumar, a farmer from Haryana's Rohtak, told IANS: "This decision taken by the Central government is for the betterment of the landlords and farmers. This will save money and the crop yield will also be higher. The increase in MSP will encourage farmers. This step of the government is commendable, which will improve the condition of farmers."Rajesh, a resident of Ahirka village in Haryana's Jind, told IANS: "The Central government has given a huge gift to the farmers by increasing the prices of Rabi crops. Wheat and mustard are the main Rabi crops in the Jind district. Farmers will benefit from the increase in the prices of these two Rabi crops. The increase in wheat price by Rs 150 per quintal and mustard price by Rs 300 per quintal is a good initiative by the government. This will increase the income of farmers."Another farmer Ravindra said that the PM Modi government is continuously making decisions in the interest of farmers."Haryana is an agricultural state in the country. If the farmers' financial condition strengthens, the state and the country will also become more developed. In the last 10 years, the BJP-led Central government has significantly increased the prices of Rabi and Kharif crops," he added.A farmer from Haryana's Kurukshetra appreciated the Central government's decision and said that the BJP government has always worked in the interest of farmers."The government has given a Diwali gift to the farmers by increasing the MSP on wheat and mustard, the farmers are happy with this decision."According to official information, the highest increase in MSP has been made for mustard by Rs 300 per quintal following which the MSP on lentils has been increased by Rs 275 per quintal. Prices for gram, wheat, safflower, and barley have increased by Rs 210, Rs 150, Rs 140 and Rs 130 per quintal, respectively.--IANSsch/akj-khz

    This is first open admission.

Farmers of Haryana rejected Congress and its proxies in Haryana!

Khoob Paisa aur maal feka Gaya inke upar. Modi aur Shah ne dhairya se inko nipta Diya Rajneeti se.

Still Soorma Bhopalis and Raita Gang want to teach politics to Modi.

Always allow the egg to break from inside. Don't crush protests to make them bigger and allow a new messiah to grow.

However, if the INDIA Alliance feels that Rahul Gandhi is not able to handle this responsibility with full dedication, they will have to make that decision. I’ve also heard about making the position rotational, but this is an internal matter...''

Looks like next LoP will be made Bali ka Bakra. Pappu can't take more of defeats. He was made LOP because of few increased seats in Lok Sabha but Haryana and J&K dented it big time

They have poured too much efforts and strategies into Harayana elections which was a heartbreaking loss to the whole cabal.

    **ORGANISER**
    December 12, 1999

    Shakti Sammelan at Rohtak (Haryana)
    Will not play second fiddle
    — BJP

    From Our Correspondent
"BE ready to provide a new political alternative in Haryana by the new millennium." This was the clear message to Haryana BJP workers, assembled for Shakti Sammelan, a one-day State workers' convention, recently held at Rohtak. The tone and tenor of the speeches by top party leaders also gave a clear indication that the BJP would not in future play second fiddle to any other party in the State.

The star speaker and Union Home Minister Shri L.K. Advani, while accounting the party's record of ups and downs faced by the BJP in the last 50 years, called upon them not to develop any inferiority complex and challenged the workers to prove themselves in the coming days. About the criticism of the party for leaving aside certain issues to get power, Shri Advani said the BJP had never compromised on principles and policies and will not do so in future.

Shri Advani reiterated the NDA commitment that a high-powered commission would be set up to review the Constitution to prepare it for the next 50 years, adding that the commission would also recommend amendments, wherever required. The commission, he said, would look into population explosion, caste reservations, etc. He added that the future of the BJP in Haryana would depend upon winning elections as well as gaining the confidence of the common man, emphasizing that winning elections alone will not suffice.

The General Secretary of BJP and in-charge of Haryana affairs Shri Narendra Modi stressed the need for mobilizing youth and establishing rapport with farmers and workers. He called for a fresh approach to reach out to the masses. More than 7,000 party workers participated in the Sammelan, which proved an impressive show of strength.

**H.P. asks Centre to set-up National level committee on tax structure and reforms**

    From Our Correspondent
HIMACHAL Pradesh Chief Minister Professor Prem Kumar Dhumal has requested the Centre to set-up a national-level committee under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, to evolve consensus on tax reforms, user charges, and tax structures to be uniformly applicable throughout the country to check tax rate wars and populism among various States in the country.

Speaking at the Chief Ministers' and State Finance Ministers' conference at New Delhi on November 16, he suggested that at least four taxation zones should be created so that the States failing to raise revenue could have uniform tax structure. Prof Dhumal also demanded that the present rate of central sales tax (CST) should be reduced, and revenue generated should be increased.

He regretted that development activities in the State had come to a standstill. The agriculture sector was facing an acute shortage of power and water. Nearly seventy-five thousand new tube well connections were pending, and the State was not getting SYL canal water. He also called for financing new agricultural projects to mitigate the suffering of farmers.
