A brief history of insurgents in Myanmar : Three years after the military coup in Myanmar, Operation 1027 was launched against the military junta by the Three Brotherhood Alliance members comprising the Arakan Army (AA) based in Rakhine State, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) from the Kokang Region of Shan State, and The Ta’ang National Liberation Army, also from Shan State. The People’s Defence Force (PDF)—militia groups that have branched out of the shadow of National Unity Government (NUG)—also joined the fray. NUG has the unstinted support of the US and has its office in Washington DC at a short distance from the White House. The trouble for India : The military in Myanmar is losing ground to these insurgents. And very recently, Myanmar Insurgent allies capture strategic Shan State town from Junta. In comes Manipur – Chin National Army (CNA) on November 7, supported by PDF operating from Chin State and Sagaing Division of Myanmar, captured key military outposts and towns on the border with India. Response to Elon Musk comment on EVMs Today, India uses the third generation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) or the M3 EVM machines. They are tamper-proof, and if tampered with, they go into a 'Safety Mode' and become inoperable. Each is a standalone device almost akin to a basic calculator. This statement cannot apply to Indian EVMs. As per the last count, nearly 400 crore votes have been cast on EVMs in India, and not a single case of hacking has ever been proven. In fact, this massive sample size of 400 crores is the single largest scientific experiment ever undertaken in the world, with no proof of cheating. Even the latest third-generation EVMs-the M3 machines that the ECI is using-are not connected to the internet and cannot connect to Bluetooth or WiFi, making them impenetrable through remote devices, a big bugbear for hackers as today most hacking is done via the internet in connected devices. Indian EVMs are different from other EVMs in the world. The M3 EVMs have no connection to any other device, not even mains power supply. It’s is a dedicated system designed for voting and not a general-purpose computing device with a loaded program for electronic voting. Each EVM is a unique electronic island in itself, and this makes them super secure. In most countries, electronic voting devices are made by private companies, which are considered less cyber secure compared to the government-owned facilities of India that manufacture the EVMs. The world's most advanced country, the USA, uses several different forms of electronic voting and has no country-wide standard. Actually USA can learn the art and science of conducting free, fair, and insurrection-free elections from India!
