Real history vs false concocted story When Qutubuddin Aibak looted Rajputana, he killed the King of Mewad and captured prince Karan Singh. Along with the looted wealth and the prince, he also took the prince's horse *"..SHUBHRAK.."* to Lahore. In Lahore, Karan Singh tried to escape and got caught in the process. Qutubuddin gave an order to behead him, and to increase the disgrace, to play a polo match, using the dead prince's head as a ball. On the day of the beheading, Qutubuddin arrived at the venue riding Shubhrak. The horse, on seeing his master Karan Singh, started prancing uncontrollably, resulting in Qutubuddin falling off the horse and Shubhrak fiercely kicking the fallen Qutubuddin. The powerful blows on the chest and head with the deadly hooves proved fatal. Qutubuddin Aibak died on the spot. Everybody was stunned. Shubhrak ran towards Karan Singh and taking advantage of the chaos that followed, the prince jumped and mounted his gallant horse, who immediately took off, starting to run the most difficult race of his life. It was almost a continuos run for a good 3 days, finally stopping at the gates of the kingdom of Mewad. When the prince dismounted from the saddle, Shubhrak stood still like a statue. Karan Singh lovingly rubbed his hands on the horse's head, but he was shocked when Shubhrak fell to the ground. The mighty horse was successful in saving his master and escorting him safely to his kingdom before dying. We have read about Chetak, but Shubhrak's story is beyond faithfulness! Court: Curbs On Entry Of Non- Hindus Will Ensure Communal Harmony. 'A temple is not a tourist or picnic spot', Madras high court said Tuesday, and directed Tamil Nadu's Hindu religious and charitable endowments department to install boards at all shrines in the state mentioning that "non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple beyond the kodimaram (flagpole)". "If any non-Hindu visits a temple, then the authorities shall obtain an undertaking from the person declaring that s/he had faith in the deity and would follow the customs and practices of Hindu religion and also abide by the temple's customs. Such undertakings shall be entered in a register maintained by the temple authorities", Justice S Srimathy ruled.

I would admit that I never knew about this movie until my wife, who is a movie buff, sat down and started watching it on OTT. My wife is someone who is not very politically aware. But even she sensed something wrong a few minutes into the movie. Our culture predates the concept of religion as it is known today. And therefore, we have been welcoming and accepting of foreign faiths that entered Bharat. Perhaps our ancestors didn't know what they were welcoming. They perhaps didn't know that they were welcoming narrow belief systems that would eventually try to finish off the very culture that welcomed them. These kinds of movies have been released in the past, too. And we have been quiet on every such occasion. But we've had enough! We are a culture that has traditionally practiced "Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah," which, when loosely translated, means that "dharma will protect you if you protect your dharma." And we will not tolerate it if there are deliberate attempts to demean and belittle our culture while glorifying a foreign faith. Yes, I am talking about your movie, "Annapoorani." You say, "In our sincere attempt to share a positive message, we may have inadvertently caused hurt." I am sorry, but I find it hard to believe that all that glorification of another faith shown in the movie, at the expense of our native faith, was done inadvertently.
