The Foolish Donkey

Once upon a time, there was a foolish donkey who worked for a washerman. One day, the donkey found a lion’s skin lying in the forest. Thinking he could trick the other animals, he put on the lion’s skin and walked proudly through the jungle. All the animals were terrified, thinking he was a real lion.

The donkey enjoyed this new respect and walked around like a king. However, one day, the donkey couldn’t help but bray loudly, and the animals immediately realized he was just a donkey in disguise. They laughed at him, and the donkey ran away in shame.

Moral: Pretending to be someone you are not will always get you into trouble.

The Greedy Dog

A hungry dog once found a juicy bone and carried it in his mouth as he crossed a bridge over a stream. Looking down into the water, he saw his own reflection and thought it was another dog with a bigger bone. Greedy for more, the dog opened his mouth to grab the other bone, but the bone he had in his mouth fell into the water and was lost.

The dog learned a valuable lesson that day: in his greed, he lost what he already had.

Moral: Greed can make you lose what you already have.

The Loyal Cat

Once there was a loyal cat who served a king. The cat was always by the king’s side, guarding him and protecting him from harm. One day, as the king was sleeping, a snake crept into the room and tried to bite the king. The loyal cat, quick and brave, pounced on the snake and killed it before it could harm the king.

When the king woke up and saw the dead snake, he praised the cat for his loyalty and bravery. From that day on, the cat became the king’s most trusted companion.

Moral: Loyalty and bravery are always rewarded.

The Merchant and His Servant

A wealthy merchant had a faithful servant who helped him in all his tasks. One day, the merchant gave the servant a bag of money and sent him to the market to buy goods. On his way back, the servant saw a group of thieves following him. Fearing for his life and the money, he quickly came up with a plan.

The servant threw the bag of money into a well and ran home. When the merchant asked about the money, the servant explained what had happened. The merchant was so impressed by his servant’s quick thinking and honesty that he rewarded him for protecting the money.

Moral: Quick thinking can save you from danger.

The Cunning Crow

A crow once found a piece of bread and sat on a tree branch to eat it. A cunning fox, who wanted the bread, came up with a plan to trick the crow. The fox looked up at the crow and said, "Oh, what a beautiful bird you are! Your voice must be just as beautiful."

Flattered by the fox’s words, the crow opened its mouth to sing, and the bread fell to the ground. The fox quickly grabbed the bread and ran away, leaving the foolish crow hungry and tricked.

Moral: Beware of those who flatter you with hidden motives.
