Uttarkashi helicopter crash: AAIB report says pilot tried emergency landing; rotor hit cable

A preliminary report by the AAIB reveals that a helicopter crash near Gangnani, Uttarakhand, on May 8, 2025, resulted in six fatalities. The BELL 407 helicopter, operated by Aerotrans Services, crashed while attempting an emergency landing after descending from its assigned altitude. The main rotor struck a fiber cable, leading to the accident that killed five pilgrims and the pilot.
