Uma Kanjilal has been appointed as the first woman Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, four decades after its establishment. With over 36 years in Open and Distance Learning, she brings extensive experience in academic leadership and digital innovation. Kanjilal, a professor of Library and Information Science, previously served as Pro Vice Chancellor and held various key leadership roles within the university.
